Position Summary
The Lead Data Scientist for the Growth Analytics team is a key role responsible for acting as the technical product owner in managing and optimizing data driven products and solutions that enhance marketing performance and customer engagement. You will combine your technical expertise with digital and marketing data platforms knowledge to drive forward our data products as an organization. This role work closely with cross functional teams including analytics, data engineering, marketing, and business stakeholders to ensure that data products align with business goals and deliver measurable value. The Lead Data Scientist will define product vision, strategy, and roadmap while prioritizing features to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality cutting-edge data solutions and hitting user engagement and adoption targets.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision:
• Develop and communicate a clear vision and strategy for data products that support the Growth Analytics team’s objectives.
• Align data product strategies with overall business goals and marketing initiatives.
• Identify new opportunities for leveraging data to improve marketing effectiveness and customer insights.
Product Development & Management:
• Develop product business and technical requirements, collaborating with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to develop and launch data driven products and features.
• Define and prioritize the product backlog, creating detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of data products, from ideation to sunset, ensuring continuous improvement and high user adoption and utilization.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
• Act as the primary liaison between the marketing team and technical teams, ensuring clear communication of product requirements and priorities.
• Work with marketing teams to understand their needs and translate them into actionable data product features.
• Engage with key stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure data products are meeting business needs.
Performance & Analytics:
• Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for data products and track their performance to ensure they deliver the expected business value.
• Identify and implement data science and modeling use cases for data products and assets
• Utilize data analytics to inform product decisions, validate hypotheses, and identify areas for improvement.
• Strong data science skills to perform EDA and partner with data engineering to product enhancements, exploratory data analysis, among others.
Leadership & Advocacy:
• Champion the use of data within the marketing team, promoting data driven decision making.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members on best practices for data product management.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data and digital marketing.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Marketing, Data Science, Business, or Computer Science).
• 5-7 years of experience in data science and product management, with a focus on data products, ideally within a marketing or digital environment.
• 7+ years of work experience
• Strong understanding of digital marketing concepts, tools, and strategies.
• Proven capability of working in complex data environments with large structured and unstructured datasets.
• Proficient in data science (e.g., SQL, Python, R) and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, React).
• Applied knowledge of advanced analytics tools and methodologies (Regression, Classification, Natural Language Processing, AI) to analyze large data sets from multiple data sources, build models, and develop consumer segmentation.
• Experience working with cross functional teams in an Agile environment.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and influential leadership skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand language for non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Marketing, Data Science, Business, or Computer Science).
• Certification in Agile methodologies (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner).
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPPA, CCPA) is a plus.
