Our client is reshaping the future of video games. They are focused on online MMO games that are completely on-chain. They have created a World Engine, a server architecture that allows developers to build games completely on chain for the most computationally intensive games. Additionally they build games on the World Engine that are completely on-chain.
Candidate requirements
• Experience writing backend services in Go, Java, or Javascript.
• Deep understanding of multiplayer networking architecture and different client-server synchronization strategies.
• Experience in Unity and C#.
• Familiarity with public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc) and infrastructure-as-code tooling (Terraform, Pulumi, or CDK).
• Proficiency in utilizing APM and other observability toolings to diagnose backend services issues and optimize performance.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Action, Jenkins, etc).
• 4+ years of experience in software engineering.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience building and shipping an MMO game.
• Experience writing high-performance multithreaded game servers from scratch.
• Experience with data-oriented programming.
• Experience building and maintaining distributed and fault-tolerant systems with production workload.
• Deep understanding of the Ethereum blockchain.
Compensation: $150,000 - $250,000 base + equity
