Government Contracts Trade Manager

This is a remote position.

Job Summary:

HYRE HARPER Co. is seeking a highly motivated and strategic Government Contracts Trade Manager to join our Trade Management division. This role is critical in identifying, pursuing, and securing government contract opportunities, focusing on federal, state, local, and education sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with government agencies and product manufacturers, responding to solicitations, and negotiating favorable terms to meet the needs of government contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Government Contract Opportunities:

· Proactively research and identify government contract opportunities in the federal, state, local, and education sectors.

· Monitor government procurement portals and databases (e.g., SAM.gov) for new solicitations and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

· Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential contract opportunities.

2. Relationship Building:

· Build and nurture relationships with government agencies to understand their needs and procurement processes.

· Develop strong partnerships with product manufacturers and suppliers to secure needed products for contract fulfillment.

· Serve as the primary point of contact for government agencies and suppliers regarding contract negotiations and performance.

3. Proposal Development and Submission:

· Prepare and submit high-quality proposals and bids in response to government solicitations.

· Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information and ensure compliance with solicitation requirements.

· Track and manage proposal submission timelines and deadlines.

4. Negotiation and Pricing:

· Negotiate terms and pricing with product manufacturers and suppliers to secure the best possible deals.

· Ensure contracts meet government agencies' specific requirements, including deadlines and payment terms.

· Analyze pricing structures and cost components to optimize contract profitability.

5. Contract Management:

· Oversee contract execution and fulfillment, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.

· Monitor contract performance and address any issues that may arise.

· Maintain accurate records of contracts, communications, and transactions.

6. Market Intelligence and Strategy:

· Stay updated on market trends, government procurement regulations, and industry best practices.

· Develop and implement strategies to enhance the company’s competitive position in the government contracting market.

· Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for business growth and expansion.

Requirements

Qualifications:

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Public Administration, or a related field.

· Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in government contracting, procurement, or trade management.

· Skills:

· Strong understanding of federal, state, local, and education procurement processes and regulations.

· Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

· Proficiency in using government procurement portals and contract management software.

· Ability to analyze market trends and develop strategic plans.

· Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.

· Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) are a plus.
