Senior Program Manager, Portfolio Management

Chime

About the role

Chime is seeking a Senior Program Manager to join our Enterprise Project Management Office. Your primary focus will be to build, stand up, and run a portfolio management system to monitor and report progress against Chime’s priority initiatives. You will also be responsible for managing a series of internal operating rhythms, including monthly business reviews. We are seeking someone who is passionate about driving measurable outcomes at a fast growing Fintech company with a mission driven business model. This is an exciting opportunity to act as a shared advocate for the Company and shape a brand new enterprise project management function at Chime.

In this role, you will regularly interact with senior and C-level executives leading delivery against our highest companies priorities, and proactively managing company-wide operating rhythms, enabling our business to grow and scale. Your role will involve heavy cross-functional collaboration, connecting the dots to advance the right work, and articulating risks that may prevent us from achieving our long term, high impact strategic priorities. With a unique vantage point over forums that monitor our most critical initiatives, including our latest product launches and member value driving programs, you will serve as a trusted advisor for all functions and leaders. You will influence faster executive decision-making, foster better cross-organizational collaboration, balance organizational capacity, and ensure key stakeholders understand how their work impacts our highest priorities. As bandwidth permits, you will also take on ad hoc projects aimed at improving Chime’s operational velocity.

If you thrive in a role that demands both building and executing, find satisfaction in crafting a data driven, impactful narrative from a blank slate, and are passionate about balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders across the organization - we want to hear from you!

This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $130,050 and up to $180,600. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to
• Shape the vision, brand, strategy, and execution of the enterprise project management function at Chime
• Develop and implement established portfolio management systems and frameworks to enhance strategic alignment and execution across the organization
• Build process to unlock velocity, not create overhead
• Optimize and drive Company level operating rhythms, including quarterly and monthly business reviews and other forums, ensuring effective oversight of progress towards goals, key risks, opportunities, and dependencies
• Be an excellent storyteller, communicating and collaborating with C-level executives regularly, presenting clear and compelling insights that drive the right conversations and focus on the right outcomes
• Coordinate with senior project managers and program management teams to translate strategic direction into clear and aligned priorities, drive stakeholder alignment, and ensure appropriate measurement to track progress
• Identify operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies and implement necessary changes and ensure we have appropriate resource allocation plans
To thrive in this role, you have
• A Bachelor's Degree, with 8+ years of experience in a strategy, business operations, program management, and/or consulting role
• Experience working in highly cross-functional settings and demonstrated ability to thrive in influence without authority and ambiguous environments
• Critical thinking skills and the ability to understand strategic business drivers across disparate businesses, questioning how we are working rather than simply executing
• Ownership mentality, with the ability to identify and solve challenges independently and execute with minimal guidance
• Excellent written and verbal communication with a proven track record of effectively interacting with and presenting to C-Suite and Senior leaders across different teams, such as product, engineering, and marketing
• Experience creating, implementing and refining internal operating rhythms
• Sharp analytical and problem solving skills, with a strong bias for action
• Experience building or actively managing an enterprise portfolio of high priority initiatives
• Strong portfolio management skills with experience managing end-to-end execution of large scale programs that have transformed their company’s operations and delivered quantifiable business impact
