Contract-to-Hire Opportunity Overview

We are offering a contract-to-hire position that involves working in a dynamic environment with a hybrid work schedule: three days in the office and two days remote. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who have a strong passion for MS SQL Server and excel in problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities
• Participate in an on-call rotation for 24x7x365 support, including evenings and weekends.
• Investigate and troubleshoot database issues to resolve problems and determine root causes.
• Handle support requests efficiently, ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Escalate issues to vendors when necessary to ensure timely resolutions.
• Document incident resolution steps and fulfill requests within ServiceNow tickets.
• Develop and update standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles.
• Identify and address recurring alert trends to enhance system stability and performance.
• Propose improvements and automation enhancements for system stability and efficiency.
• Lead and participate in projects such as cloud migration, application modernization, and performance optimization.

Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience as an MS SQL Server DBA.
• Proficiency with MS SQL Server replication, Always On, and mirroring.
• Strong SQL coding and tuning skills.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Familiarity with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
• Knowledge of SSIS and SSRS.
• Experience with AWS/Cloud Services (EC2, RDS, Aurora) and cloud deployment tools (Jenkins, Bitbucket, Terraform).
• Hands-on experience in large, dynamic environments with MS SQL Server RDBMS installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to assess and improve SQL performance.
• Understanding of common database procedures such as upgrades, backups, recovery, and migration.
• Commitment to following SDLC and change management principles.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of data quality, management, and testing strategies.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Experience with ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Zenoss, Foglight) and cloud monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, CloudTrail).
