Position: Java Developer
Location: Remote but must work in PST (Its great if candidate sits in Portland, OR)
Duration: 1 year Contract– possible extension or conversion past a year if performance aligns
Start Date: October 2024
Pay: $65/hr
Day to Day
A government entity in Portland OR is hiring a Java Developer with strong experience in Java and Smart Guide. The Developer will be responsible maintaining and updating an existing system that receives permitting tickets. The developer will work across the organization, so having strong communication and collaboration skills is key. It is also important they understand the user experience and figure out how to enhance it.
Desired Skills
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering or back end development.
• 3+ years of experience developing and integrating back end using Java
• Alphinat Smart Guide for rapid Web Application development
• Experience with CI/CD technologies (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, CircleCI).
• Experience designing and implementing Rest APIs to support front end.
Nice to Have Skills
• AMANDA Permitting System by Granicus
• Oracle Database backend
• Tomcat Webserver
• Accela Permitting System and their Civic Portal website module.
