Position Title: Educational Materials Writer

Reports To: Director of Program Support

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm

Must be able to work in our Towson Maryland office twice a week.

General Purpose of the Job:

Success for All Foundation seeks an experienced, collaborative and enthusiastic Educational Materials Writer to develop content for instructional materials. In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to develop engaging content for our instructional materials and work closely with our Program Support Team to design and support the implementation of our curricula. Your contributions will directly impact our mission to ensure academic success for all students. Come be a part of our passionate and dedicated team!

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Design and develop curricula, supporting instructional materials, and related resources that are aligned to programmatic goals and curricular standards, and based in pedagogical best practices

· Review and edit instructional materials to ensure accuracy, alignment with standards, and effectiveness.

· Create lesson plans that incorporate current educational and industry technology

· Select appropriate supplemental texts or other materials to support curricular content and learning goals

· Select, create and review materials to ensure they are appropriate for students of different abilities and learning modalities

· Conduct research on educational best practices and stay current with the latest trends and developments in the field

· Perform other duties, as assigned

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor's degree in education or another related education field (e.g., elementary education)

· 2 years of Instructional development experience

Technology:

· Ability to use Microsoft Word and Google Docs in the creation, editing, and review of documents

· Ability to use Microsoft Outlook for sending and receiving email, maintaining a work calendar, and scheduling appointments

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Knowledge of Success for All programs preferred

· Teaching experience

· Instructional writing experience

· Education program design, facilitation, and management experience within a non-profit setting preferred

· Demonstrated attention to detail with an ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks

· Excellent writing and interpersonal skills

Working Conditions:

Work is normally performed in an office and / or home-office environment. Some travel will be required.

Physical Effort:

No or very limited physical effort required.

Environmental Conditions:

Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks, such as operating dangerous equipment or working with chemicals.
