Candidate Profile:
We are seeking CVs from qualified proposal writers with expertise in one or more of the technical areas listed below for expected new business opportunities worldwide. Proposal writers should have a proven track record and strong expertise in writing winning bids and proposals for international donors as well as foundations, in addition to practical experience in the developing world. Proposal writers will work closely with PfD’s new business team and country teams, as appropriate, to produce competitive proposals. PfD is seeking writers who are available on short notice for often intense, but limited periods of work, as well as for international travel, as required, as well as remote work.
Key qualifications include:
Required:
• Proven experience writing winning proposals for projects funded by USAID and at least one of the following other donors: USDA, DFID, AfDB, ADB, the World Bank or private foundations.
• Technical expertise including an advanced degree in one or more of the following areas: maternal and child health, reproductive health, WASH, nutrition, food aid and livelihoods.
• At least 5 years’ experience in proposal writing and project implementation in developing countries
• Strong knowledge of donor specific procurement vehicles and requirements
• Strong organizational and time management ability, and proven ability to adhere to and work successfully under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English required.
Preferred:
• Experience working in Africa and/or Southeast Asia preferred
• Practical experience in food aid program implementation
• Second language ability, particularly in French, a plus but not required.
