As a Data Engineer, the role involves several critical aspects related to designing, building, and maintaining data on the Microsoft Azure platform:
• Technical Subject Matter Expertise:
• Integration, transformation, and consolidation of data from various sources.
• Creation of suitable schemas for building analytics solutions.
• Data Exploration and Understanding:
• Stakeholders gain insights into data through exploration.
• Building and maintaining secure, compliant data processing pipelines is a crucial part of the role.
• Utilization of different tools and techniques to achieve this.
• Azure Services and Frameworks:
• Collaboration with various Azure data services and frameworks to store and produce cleansed, enhanced datasets for analysis.
• Key services include:
• Azure Data Factory
• Azure Synapse Analytics
• Azure Data Lake Storage
• Data Architecture Patterns:
• Designing data stores with different architecture patterns based on business requirements:
• Modern data warehouse (MDW)
• Big data Lakehouse architecture
• Operationalization and Optimization:
• Ensuring that data pipelines and data stores are high-performing, efficient, organized, and reliable.
• Identifying and troubleshooting operational and data quality issues.
• Designing, implementing, monitoring, and optimizing data platforms to meet data pipeline requirements.
• Knowledge of the Insurance/Reinsurance Business:
• Knowledge or training in any Insurance or Reinsurance business
• Data Processing Languages:
• Proficiency in data processing languages such as:
• SQL
• Python
• Spark
• Certification:
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Solution Expert certification is a plus.
