JOB TITLE: EYFS ( Early Years Foundation Stage) Teaching Assistant

REPORTS TO: Lead Teacher & Key Stage Coordinator

DEPARTMENT :Teaching

WORKING LANGUAGE: English

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday 7:20 am to 4:00 pm with occasional Saturday work as required.

LOCATION: Abuja Nigeria

JOB PURPOSE: Under the guidance of the class teacher or key stage coordinator the EYFS Teaching Assistant shall provide support for pupils who require help to enable access to learning and to assist in the management of pupils; to assist all pupils to develop emotional security selfbelief and mature social skills ensuring that all nursery school pupils attain to their potential through the effective delivery of a highquality program of teaching and learning from early years to reception.

The Early Years Foundation Stage Teaching Assistant is selected by the Director of Schools in consultation with the HOS and Key Stage Coordinator.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS:
• Assisting in the development and implementation of lessons and work schemes using the Early Years Foundation Stage as a framework.
• Supervise and provide particular support for pupils including those with special needs ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
• To keep accurate developmental records and carry out daily observations of the children
• Identify clear learning objectives and specify how they will be taught and assessed.
• Motivate and stimulate a child s learning abilities often encouraging learning through experience
• Assist with the development of a child s personal social language and physical coordination abilities
• Provide pastoral care and support to children within a secure learning environment
• Develop and produce visual aids and teaching resources
• Establish a safe clean and secure learning environment which promotes pupils confidence
• Providing opportunities to develop pupils wider understanding by relating their learning to real life Teach according to the EYFS Framework for England and Wales.
• Set clear learning objectives assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
• Support school policies and objectives ensuring students safety and conflict resolution.
• Uphold professional standards engage in professional development and contribute to school management.
• Ensure health and safety measures are followed.

Requirements
• Bachelor s Degree in Education or related field with teaching certification. Additional certifications and 3 years of relevant experience preferred. British curriculum teaching experience is a MUST.
