Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state and national language standards.
• Teach Spanish language courses to students from beginner to advanced levels in grades 9-12.
• Utilize various instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and respect for cultural diversity.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration to support student success.
• Participate in school-wide activities, professional development, and curriculum planning.
• Integrate technology and authentic resources to enhance language learning experiences.
Qualifications:
• Valid New York State teaching certification in Spanish or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Proficiency in Spanish and English (native or near-native fluency).
• Previous teaching experience at the high school level is preferred.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
• Commitment to continuous professional growth and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with curriculum development and differentiated instruction.
• Ability to incorporate cultural components such as literature, history, and current events into the curriculum.
• Experience using educational technology tools (e.g., Google Classroom, language learning apps).
