We are seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources to join our evolving organization. The ideal candidate will act as an employee champion and a leader of change. This individual will be responsible for developing HR strategies in support of departments' operations and the agency mission and goals, managing the department staff, developing and directing HR programs and services, developing and managing budgets and ensuring the agency compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.

This is a full-time, Direct Hire role (not contract).
Day in the Life -
• Lead and direct the HR staff, oversee the program and services of the HR department and provide reporting to the Executive staff regarding the agency’s Human Resources operations
• Develop policies and procedures, provide directions and guidance, interpret policies and procedures, analyze situations, and provide support to directors and staff
• Develop and manage the HR budget in accordance with department needs; ensure compliance with contracts and service agreements
• Perform the employee relations functions, including developing and implementing policies and procedures, promoting and maintaining a high level of employee engagement, commitment to the agency, managing employee issues, and complaints and conducting investigations into employment matters
• Develop and manage employee benefit programs and ensure programs reflect the marketplace, staff expectations, and the agency’s financial goal
• Develop and maintain employee total rewards and compensation programs, including job descriptions, compensation policies and procedures, market analysis, salary structures, merit, and other pay increases, incentive plans, and recognition programs that reflect the agency’s targeted competitive position
• Plan and direct the agency’s workforce development programs, including performance management systems, succession planning, training, career, and organizational development
• Coordinate the ongoing recruiting and hiring of staff
• Manage labor relations, negotiate Memorandum of Understanding and ensure compliance with NLRB rules and regulations
• Monitor and provide reporting on workforce analytics, develop and manage DEI programs, develop programs to support a high performing staff and programs for employee retention
Keys to Success -
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in human resources or management
• 7+ years' of professional HR experience, ideally from a services oriented business, with a combination of corporate and business unit line experience preferred
• Ability to plan and provide leadership in the execution of human resources program and services
• Flexible and able to deal with changing priority and deadlines
• Knowledgeable in Tennessee employment laws and regulations
• Knowledgeable of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, employee relations concepts, compensation strategies, recruitment, training, and development, performance management, managing staff and investigations and budgeting
