We are seeking an Application Programmer - Advanced to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts. This role will involve working on complex projects, requiring expertise in Java Spring Boot and Kafka. As an Application Programmer, you will be responsible for system design, application development, testing, and maintaining operational stability.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver system design and application development across multiple complex projects.
• Utilize core Java 8 or higher with Spring Boot to create and maintain software applications.
• Gain hands-on experience with Kafka or other event streaming systems such as RabbitMQ, Kinesis Service Bus.
• Work with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Utilize distributed cache and compute grid products such as Hazelcast.
• Proficiently use developmental toolsets like GIT/BitBucket, JIRA, Maven.
• Design, deploy, and manage scalable applications using Kubernetes.
• Leverage knowledge and understanding of capital markets, particularly back-office technology and systems.
• Gain AWS experience when possible.
• Work with Spark with Scala for big data processing.
• Participate in PERF testing and adopt shift left practices.• Proven experience in application development with demonstrable proficiency in Java
• Familiarity with AWS technologies, Kubernetes, and Apache Spark
• Proficient in SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle database technologies
• Experience with JIRA and GIT for project management and version control
• Solid understanding of Capital Markets
• Experience in code review and unit testing
• Familiarity with Maven, Sprint Framework, and Spring Boot
• Experience in application deployments and ensuring scalability
• Proficiency in 'About Time' and 'Practices' tools
• Ability to conduct competitor analysis and phone screens
• Knowledge of stream processing and application development methodologies
• Experience in providing training to team members and stakeholders
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
