Goldstein Mauer PLLC is a growing boutique trusts and estates law firm, located in Manhattan’s Flatiron District / Union Square neighborhood. Our Firm concentrates on estate planning, probate, estate administration, estate litigation, and business succession planning, proudly serving clients throughout New York City, Long Island, Westchester and Rockland counties.
We are seeking an experienced, conscientious trusts and estates paralegal to join our team. Our ideal candidate has 3+ years’ experience in probate, estate administration, and Surrogate’s Court practice.

Key Responsibilities
• Handling all aspects of probate and estate administration proceedings, including preparing petitions and other court filings (heirship affidavits, asset and liability affidavits, applications for waiver of bond, etc.), collection of estate assets, settlement of debts, distribution of bequests, and receipt and release agreements
• Preparing informal and formal estate and trust accountings
• Assisting with funding trusts through retitling bank accounts and updating beneficiaries
• Preparing and filing IRS forms, including but not limited to Forms SS-4, 2848, 56, Applications for Release of Lien (ET-117) and various related tax forms.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
• Knowledge of Surrogate's Court procedures and practice including minimum 3 years experience preparing and filing Probate and intestate Administration Petitions in the Surrogate's Courts in the state of New York and dealing with Probate and Administration Department personnel throughout our local Surrogate’s Courts
• Experience with Lexis NYSBA automated surrogate’s court forms (formerly HotDocs)
• Experience with NYSCEF e-filing and WebSurrogate
• Client facing skills (pleasant and enthusiastic phone manner)
• Unparalleled organizational skills
• High professional standards with a passion for quality work product
• Unexpired NY notary license (or willing to take the NY notary exam) and willingness to certify as a Remote Online Notary
• Fluency in MS Word, Excel, Gmail, working with PDFs
• Familiarity with MacOS, Clio a plus.
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $65,000 to 90,000. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, and performance.
