What You'll Do
In this role, you'll be doing more than just building models—crafting the entire data journey. From ingesting real-time data streams to delivering actionable insights, you'll own the process from start to finish. Here's what your day-to-day will look like:
• Data Engineering: Develop and maintain data pipelines (batch and streaming) that pull from various APIs and internal sources, ensuring data integrity and scalability.
• Predictive Analytics: Build models that answer key business questions like “Can we predict which customers are likely to default based on payment history?” or “What's the expected lifetime value of a new user?”.
• Business Problem Solving: Use data to answer high-impact questions across the company, translating technical findings into actionable business insights.
• Collaborative Work: Partner with other teams such as product, finance, and engineering to gather requirements, define metrics, and develop data strategies.
• Data Stewardship: Ensure clean, accurate, and accessible data across the organization and help establish best practices for data governance.
What You Bring
Technical Skills:
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and tools for data manipulation and analysis (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
• Hands-on experience with batch and real-time data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Kafka, Spark, or similar).
• Experience ingesting and working with APIs and third-party data sources.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure), especially in a data engineering context (e.g., AWS Lambda, Kinesis, Glue).
Analytical Mindset:
• Ability to perform advanced statistical analysis and build predictive models (e.g., regression, decision trees, machine learning algorithms).
• Experience applying data science techniques to solve real-world business problems, especially in areas like customer behaviour prediction, payment defaults, etc.
Problem-Solving:
• A demonstrated ability to transform messy, incomplete data into actionable insights.
• A natural curiosity to dig deep into problems and the skills to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
