As an Environmental Educator, you will play a key role in delivering educational programs from January through November, supporting seasonal camp programs in the spring and summer, and contributing to the development of new educational content. Your work will be based primarily on-site, with opportunities for remote work during the winter months or when site-based activities are not scheduled.

Key Responsibilities
• Environmental Education (45%):
• Deliver environmental and agriculture education programs to various age groups, both on the farm and at off-site locations, including schools and special events.
• Adapt and customize lessons and activities to meet the needs of different students and contexts.
• Camp Programming:
• Support camp activities by facilitating sessions, providing general staff assistance, and offering one-on-one support for campers as needed.
• Fill in for camp group leaders when required.
• On-Farm Programming:
• Teach school programs throughout the academic year, often alongside other staff members.
• Lead instructional sessions for groups of about 12 students, with the support of chaperones or teachers.
• In-Class Programming:
• Collaborate with other staff members to facilitate in-class programs.
• Program Preparation (5%):
• Prepare for each program by reviewing teacher requests, past visit notes, and gathering materials.
• Coordinate with the Garden Coordinator to ensure availability of produce and relevant learning opportunities.
• Program Support (35%):
• Contribute to the improvement of curricula and activities, providing feedback and support to the Education Specialist.
• Engage in seasonal tasks such as curriculum development, staff training, and program reflection.
• Farming and Gardening (15%):
• Assist with various farm tasks, including planting, harvesting, and general garden maintenance.
