Immunogenicity Principal Scientist

Pfizer

What You Will Achieve

The Immunogenicity Sciences Group within the Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, and Metabolism (PDM) Department of Pfizer's Discovery and Early Development division is an industry-leading team whose mission is to identify key risks associated with unwanted clinical immunogenicity and influence drug design to mitigate those risks.

We are currently seeking an experienced immunogenicity scientist to join this highly innovative team and collaborate with key stakeholders across Pfizer's Research and Development, including Protein Engineering, Clinical Pharmacology, Drug Safety and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The Principal Scientist role will report to the Immunogenicity Sciences Lead and its core functions are the management of a team of lab-based scientists in their pivotal role in drug design and, drive the establishment of novel approaches to support immunogenicity risk assessment and mitigation strategies of Pfizer's diverse biologics portfolio.

This unique opportunity will immerse the successful candidate in a diverse array of biotherapeutics modalities being designed and developed to meet the needs of patients across Oncology, Inflammation and Immunology, Internal Medicine and Anti-infective disease areas. The successful candidate will drive advancement of our immunogenicity risk mitigation capabilities through scientific leadership, and application of fundamental immunology sciences to further improve the efficacy and safety of our biologics.

How You Will Achieve It
• Design ad-hoc immunogenicity risk identification and mitigation strategies for Pfizer's biologic portfolio across all disease areas and modalities, oversee execution, data interpretation and delivery to stake holders
• Closely collaborate with Pfizer's BioMedicine Design protein engineers and Research Units Team to enable the development of robust immunogenicity mitigation strategies in keeping with project objectives and timelines
• Lead a team of scientists to execute de-risking strategies by applying in silico and in vitro tools to deliver high quality actionable data, navigate change of priorities, program accelerations and implementation of innovation
• Identify talent development opportunities to support growth and career progression of team members
• Safeguard diversity, equity and inclusion
• Actively pursue innovation to improve assay suitability, quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness
• Identify gaps and investigate novel approaches or technologies to advance, improve or optimize scientific practices and procedures in immunogenicity risk assessment and mitigation
• Represent the Immunogenicity Sciences group at Projects Teams meetings from discovery through early clinical development
• Guide and support project Teams in the writing of Integrated Summary of Immunogenicity and other immunogenicity reports
• Contributes to a change-agile, high performing culture of innovation, impact, trust, accountability, and mutual respect in a fast-paced matrix environment
• Demonstrate our values and behaviors of Excellence, Courage, Equity and Joy.
• Exemplify achievements through publications and external communications
