Northwestern State University (NSU) seeks applications for an Instructor of Music and Fine Arts beginning August 2024. Responsibilities include teaching group performance classes, individual lessons, and/or ensembles in woodwinds, specifically clarinet. The Instructor will also be required to teach Fine Arts (NSU’s required “art appreciation” course). A strong respect for and an ability to work well with colleagues is essential.

PhD, DM, MFA, MM required. Advanced piano accompaniment skills are also required.

Rank is at the instructor level and salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications
• Shall be credentialed and in good standing by relative credentialing agencies, if appropriate.
• Shall be qualified to teach in the field of study.
• Shall be effective in teaching the assigned subject material.
• Shall meet the required standards defined by the University.
• Shall have a minimum of 2 years' experience or equivalent in the practice of the area of study, or as required by accreditation agencies.
• Shall hold an MM, MFA, or Ph.D. degree in Music or other appropriate field of study.
