Role Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Plant Finance Manager to join our team and oversee financial operations at our Gordon, GA facility. This role involves collaborating closely with plant and financial management to drive financial performance and support key business functions. You will lead the finance team for the plant, handling areas such as general accounting, cost accounting, business analysis, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and capital project financial analysis. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact through cross-functional collaboration and strategic financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Manage a timely month-end close and ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP.
- Cost Analysis: Present monthly cost reviews to leadership and analyze labor, material costs, and manufacturing overhead to support accurate standard costing.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Oversee the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly reforecasts for plant financial operations.
- Inventory Management: Ensure inventory accuracy, work with plant operations to investigate and resolve physical adjustments, and review/write off obsolete inventory as needed.
- Capital Projects: Assist in preparing ROI analyses for capital projects and present findings to senior leadership.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate cross-functionally to develop process improvements and streamline reporting.
- Audit Assistance: Support year-end audits and other audits as required.
- Fixed Assets Management: Manage fixed assets and perform periodic audits.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- MBA or CPA is preferred but not required.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a mining/manufacturing environment and/or public accounting.
- Ability to work independently and effectively lead and motivate staff to achieve goals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
