Summary of Responsibilities:
Sunland Welding & Fabrication is a steel fabrication and installation sub-contractor focused on projects within the Phoenix Valley. The scope of project work for Sunland Welding is split between custom residential homes and one or two-story commercial properties. We currently have an opening for a Junior Estimator at our Gilbert office. The Junior Estimator will have one direct report.
Responsibilities
• Generate in-house takeoffs for the scope of work consistent with Sunland Welding standards.
• Calculate labor, equipment, and material costs for steel framing and miscellaneous projects.
• Review drawings and specifications to determine quantities and calculate pricing.
• Develop and maintain positive communication with customers and suppliers.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, as necessary.
• Facilitate shop drawing communication, assist with RFI’s and change order documentation.
• Prepare project documents, material release schedules, client information, project schedules and other documentation to assure a steady stream of information to the Project Managers
Requirements
• Familiar with structural steel fabrication to AISC standards
• 1-2 years structural steel estimating experience
• Ability to read architectural/structural plans and design documents
• Experience estimating job costs for construction projects (steel preferred)
• Willingness to learn and contribute to department system improvements
• Organized, attentive, and comfortable with phone and zoom conference calling
• Excellent time management skills as relative to deadlines and priority items
• Solid interpersonal and communication skills with team members
• Familiar with Stack (or equivalent) software is plus
Schedule: 40 hours, minimal overtime
Salary: $20-24/hr, negotiable based on
