Summary:
The Analyst is responsible for assisting the Research & Insights team in managing the American Pet Products Association's (APPA) research and insights projects and partners. This role will also work closely with the VP of Research & Insights to assist in the development and execution plans to collect, analyze, and communicate insights that inform APPA's strategic decision-making while advancing the pet industry. The Analyst will also support the Research and Insights team to maintain APPA's research infrastructure and capabilities and ensure data relevance.
Responsibilities:
Project Management
• Able to execute the project process independently, thoughtfully, accurately, thoroughly and on-schedule
• Demonstrate high attention to detail
• Juggle multiple projects at one time and maintain full ownership of their responsibilities
• Help set up projects and coordinate/communicate with research vendors and flagging issues and contributing to resolving them
• Accommodate different working styles and needs
Analytical
• Design and write basic to complex questionnaires
• Understand and write simple to complex logic and data design for implementation in survey and data tabulation programs
• Do data checks such as checking questionnaire programs for logic, accuracy and completeness, edit/proof data tables, review/approve codes
• Perform basic to more complex analysis
• Execute subgroup analyses
• Prepare reports and analyses for Sr. review in a data and story driven format
In General
• Providing support to the Research & Insights Leadership team in establishing and implementing APPA's research technology infrastructure
• Assist the team to conceptualize, establish, and pilot APPA’s custom research and consulting practice
• Assist the team to develop the research and insights development roadmap to include both deliverables and the supporting technology infrastructure to ensure that research is being conducted and reported accordingly
• Assist the team as needed to track APPA's performance against its research and insights goals.
• Proficiency in problem-solving and creative thinking skills as part of a highly experienced team
Qualifications:
• At least 3 years experience in the consumer research and insights industry
• Solid understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to build and manage relationships
• Superior attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong work ethic and dedication
