The Strategic Intelligence group at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) keeps a pulse on the most cutting edge and impactful moves our competitors and health care disruptors make, and we’re seeking a Strategic Advisor to join our team. The Strategic Intelligence team’s research, analysis, and critical thinking informs enterprise strategy and helps leaders make key business decisions with confidence. On this highly visible team, you will work on cross-functional projects with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, to make an impact on enterprise priorities.

What You Will Do:
• Provide market and competitor intelligence that supports leadership’s efforts to identify, track and implement Blue Cross NC’s strategic priorities.
• Inform key stakeholders of our competitors’ strategic actions, how those actions impact Blue Cross NC, and what our company should consider in response.
• Conduct research and analyze findings to develop insights and reports that inform strategic planning and advance strategic initiatives.
• Proactively support the execution and delivery of special projects and coordinate with stakeholders to deliver timely and relevant findings.
• Produce polished, insightful, and compelling deliverables in PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and other forms.
• Assist with presentation of findings with an audience of key stakeholders.
• Be a trusted advisor for partners throughout Blue Cross NC, including divisional stakeholders, executive leadership, and the Blue Cross NC board of trustees.
• Develop an in-depth understanding of strategic intelligence tools and methodologies and Blue Cross NC’s ongoing initiatives and strategic priorities.
• Partner with Strategic Intelligence teammates to share intelligence and insights and to support critical projects
• Approach work with creativity and enthusiasm.
• Track the impact of your work through qualitative and quantitative means.
What You Bring:
• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)
• 3+ years of experience in related field.
• In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field.
Nice to Haves:
• 3+ years of experience in strategic development, consumer research, business intelligence, strategic planning, business development, strategy consulting, management consulting, market/product development and/or general corporate affairs.
• OR master’s degree and 2 years of experience as stated above.
• Internal candidates with at least 6 years of broad-based health insurance/healthcare experience and direct, prior exposure to applicable strategy area (i.e., innovation, customer experience, strategic planning) will also be considered.
• Demonstrated experience contributing to the analysis of a company’s needs and supporting the development of business strategies as well as serving as a liaison to business executives, internal and external and/or other outside advisors.
• Previous experience identifying new opportunities, creating products/programs/solutions and/or supporting change efforts.
• Experience managing complex projects.
• The ability to create simple, impactful, and persuasive slides in PowerPoint.
Salary Range
$77,200.00 - $123,400.00
