Position overview

In the role of Director of Strategic Transformation, you will maximize financial and strategic value and align short term needs to longer term business strategies focused on Growth Platforms of allnex. You will act as a strategic marketing manager who leads, develops and executes the business development strategy for the allnex Growth Platforms by focusing on market and industry trends, identifying unmet needs and growth opportunities and developing strategic plans to achieve the organization’s goals.

You will be responsible for identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities, building and maintaining strong cross-functional relationships, and driving strategic projects.

Responsibilities
• Strategic planning: coordinate and drive the development of ambitious growth strategies for the Growth Platforms, on the basis of sound strategic analyses & marketing, in collaboration with the Heads of the Growth Platforms and their teams. Review & update these strategic plans at least once a year and develop budgets for the following year on their basis.
• Strategy execution:
• Drive the execution of the growth strategies by setting up strategic agendas (with formal “strategic programs”), monitoring their progress, and taking corrective and additional actions as necessary, in collaboration with the Heads of the Growth Platforms and their teams.
• Set up and monitor KPIs, tools & processes for the successful execution of the growth strategies: in particular, own the CRM tool for the Growth Platforms, making sure it captures all business development initiatives, and is properly maintained and updated by the salesforce – interfacing with the Regions & the Commercial Excellence team; support & optimize the IRM process as appropriate
• As part of the strategy execution, develop a pipeline of M&A and alliance opportunities, identifying potential targets/partners, assessing the strategic rationale and value creation potential of combinations with them, and testing their availability, possibly with help from 3rd parties (e.g., GC, banks, etc.)
• Reporting:
• Write monthly highlights, outlining the progress of the overall strategy execution and of key projects
• Report on the value and progress of the Growth Platform’s business development pipeline, and key projects thereof, with use of the CRM tool
• Strategic projects:
• Drive innovation in the field of Advanced Composites, a strategic growth area for allnex, identifying the most promising applications, unmet needs and hurdles to adoption; setting up R&D and Application Development projects; identifying key customers to target across the value chain, with suitable solutions and value propositions; setting up strategic collaborations with them, and potential enabling partners.
• Drive business development for Specialty Methacrylates, an allnex product range that can enable new, more sustainable solutions for Composites, Adhesives and other applications.

Required skills and experience
• 5+ years of successful professional experience in role of Strategic Marketing or Business Development, preferably in chemical industry.
• Experience in strategy development and implementation, leading transformation processes.
• Strong project management skills, with a track record of driving global scale initiatives.
• Strong thought leadership, with state-of-the-art strategic, business and analytical skills and a global exposure and perspective.
• Strong people leadership, with outstanding interpersonal & communication skills, and an ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively across functional & geographic boundaries.
• Strong results leadership, with proper structuring, focus, and timely delivery.
• Proven ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics and drive change.
• Excellent English language skills.
