POSITION SUMMARY: Provides analysis of all chemical material at all stages in the manufacturing and R and D processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Analyzes incoming materials supplied by vendors, existing product, and new product used in production. Safety, accuracy and rapid turn-around are critical.
• Ensures laboratory equipment is clean and fully functional.
• Computes, analyzes and maintains records pertaining to all test methods and data.
• Manufactures and tests small-scale electrolyte samples.
• Provides and interprets data to Quality Control.
• Assists in resolving non-conforming or other product issues.
• Performs all tasks according to standard operating procedures and safety requirements.
• Follows all company, industry standard and OSHA safety procedures, including equipment safety and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Provides support to other departments, as needed.
• Assists with all phases of manufacturing and manufacturing support as needed to assure back up, respond to surges, and make certain no customer request becomes delinquent.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry.
• 1-3 years working in a lab setting preferred.
• Publication and presentation experience preferred.
SKILLS:
• Ability to safely and correctly operate lab equipment.
• Knowledge of hazardous material handling policies and procedures.
• Ability to make presentations to small and large groups.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Problem solving and analytical skills required.
