Job Title: Operations/Food Service Staff Location: JLPAA- Julia Lee Performing Arts Academy Reports To: Director of Operations/ Food Services Director Job Summary: The Cafeteria Staff is responsible for assisting with the preparation, serving, and clean-up of food and beverages in the school cafeteria. They ensure that all food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed, provide excellent customer service to students and staff, and help maintain a clean and organized work environment. Key Responsibilities: 1. Food Preparation and Serving: o Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and menus. o Assemble and serve meals and beverages to students and staff. o Ensure portion sizes and presentation meet school standards. o Monitor food temperatures and ensure they are within safe ranges. 2. Sanitation and Clean-Up: o Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces according to health and safety regulations. o Wash dishes, pots, and pans using appropriate cleaning methods. o Dispose of waste and recyclables in accordance with school policies. o Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift. 3. Food Safety: o Follow food safety and hygiene practices, including hand washing and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). o Check and record food temperatures to ensure compliance with health standards. o Store food items properly to prevent spoilage and contamination. o Report any food safety concerns or violations to the Cafeteria Manager. 4. Customer Service: o Greet students and staff with a friendly and positive attitude. o Assist with serving food and addressing any questions or concerns from customers. o Handle transactions accurately if working at a cashier station. o Maintain a clean and welcoming serving area. 5.
