Education Coordinator

• Family Service Association is offering a $1,000.00 signing bonus for this position*****

Family Service Association has a full time (35 hours per week) opening for an EEC Education Coordinator at our Kids Academy located in Fall River, MA. The schedule is Monday through Friday, first shift hours 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

The Education Coordinator is responsible for curriculum oversight and staff development/scheduling at Kids Academy and grant funded initiatives within the program. Responsibilities include ensuring appropriate curriculum activities that provide a safe, nurturing, and academically enriching environment while maintaining compliance with any and all applicable standards and mentoring staff on classroom implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all education staff related to ensuring staff/children ratios, staff observations, staff schedules, and curriculum implementation.
• Oversee and maintain a high quality, inclusive, and comprehensive curriculum that meets standards from EEC, NAEYC, FSA, and QRIS.
• Ensure compliance is maintained with any and all applicable standards
• Mentor staff on classroom implementation.
• Work closely with the Program Director to identify external specialists, field trips, family involvement, special events, and approving lesson plans.
• Provide coverage in the classroom and front desk as needed.
• Supervise classroom compliance with Department of Early Education and Care Standards, FSA Policies, QRIS, PQR, and NAEYC accreditation standards.
• Prepare ordering for ongoing classroom supplies, grant funded materials/supplies and submit to the Program Director.
• Ensure staff ratios, planning time lunch break, and sick/vacation coverage are met.
• Compile accurate and timely program documentation for the Program Director including staff time sheets, facility checklist reviews, staff & classroom observations, education staff schedules, and lesson plans.
• Address behavior problems within the classroom including development and implementation of behavior management plans and report to the Program Director if suspension/probation and parent meetings are needed.
• Manage, maintain, and complete necessary paperwork for Teaching Strategies Gold.
• Assist Program Director with EEC licensing and NAEYC accreditation.
• Ensure that scheduled curriculum activities are implemented as outlined.
• Oversee the usage of electronics in the classroom.
• Attend required meetings and professional development trainings as necessary to this position.
• Maintain regular communication with parents, staff, and agency.

Education and Experience:

Education Coordinator must meet all EEC requirements of Lead Teacher. Preferred EEC requirements for Director.
