Summary:
Intervention Aides are responsible for helping children develop strong mathematic skills including reasoning, problem solving and explaining. They provide mathematics intervention and assessment, working closely with the school math coach and classroom educators.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to handle multitude of varying issues and tasks
• Ability to use technology effectively
Desired Qualifications:
• Familiarity and experience with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for Mathematics
• Experience collaborating and problem solving with teachers
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):
• Collaborates with school Math Coach regarding data collection and intervention implementation
• Implements student mathematics interventions and monitors progress
• Supports teachers in documenting children’s mathematics progress
• Attends Professional Development sessions as appropriate
• Helps to distribute and organize curriculum materials
• Other related duties as requested
• Consistent, reliable and punctual attendance is essential for supervision and instruction of the students
• Responsible for implementing “other job related duties” as needed

Work Environment:
• Majority of work is performed in a school/classroom environment. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
Physical Requirements:
• While performing the duties of this job the aide is frequently required to kneel, stoop, bend, and crouch. The aide is periodically required to stand; while talking and listening. The aide is occasionally required to sit; walk; lift; or carry. Regularly required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
