Director of SEO

Our client is a Seattle based digital marketing firm with proven results for strategy, execution and communication. Their core services include Search Engine Optimization, Pay-Per-Click Management, Paid Social Advertising, Display Advertising, Landing Page Development/Testing and Google Analytics consulting.

They are currently looking for a full-time Director of SEO. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years’ experience in search engine optimization (SEO), be data-driven, and have proven success managing numerous SEO clients.

This position will be responsible for the SEO channel at the agency. This includes managing a small team, being the expert at the agency for their largest clients and creating, implementing and improving the service at the agency.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, with 1 day per week work from home and 4 days per week in office. Our client is located in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle.

Key Responsibilities of the Director of SEO:
• Create, implement and improve SEO service at the agency
• Hire, develop and manage a team
• Develop optimization strategies that improve clients' website search engine rankings.
• Proactively identify and implement improvements and optimizations for ongoing campaigns.
• Conduct thorough keyword research and analysis to uncover opportunities for content optimization and new content creation.
• Perform competitor analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for enhancing our SEO and content strategies.
• Conduct regular website audits to identify and resolve technical SEO issues, ensuring optimal crawling, indexing, and ranking.
• Create compelling, high-quality website content, including blog posts, page titles, and descriptions, to enhance search engine visibility.
• Develop and execute white-hat link-building strategies to improve domain authority and overall search engine rankings.
• Coordinate content creation through an editorial calendar, blog outlines, and trends research.
• Update website architecture, content, linking, and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords.
• Generate detailed campaign reports to track and analyze performance.

What you need to be successful:
• 5-10 years’ experience in organic search engine optimization
• 3-5 years’ experience managing direct reports
• Working knowledge of HTML٫ CSS٫ and JavaScript development and constraints
• Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms
• Familiarity with Google Analytics or other third-party analytics and optimization tools
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Search
• Excellent client-facing and internal communications skills
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Must have the ability to multi task and work within firm deadlines
• Agency experience or experience working with multiple advertisers a plus
