Our client is a leading local manufacturer of high-quality process equipment such as heat exchangers, and pressure vessels. Their sophisticated manufacturing facility is located in the Greater Vancouver area and utilizes innovative technology including robotics and CNC machining.
We are looking for a Business Development Representative to join their team and lead business development for the organization. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5-8 years of industrial sales experience, selling into the oil and gas industry. We are looking for a Business Development Representative who is excited about developing new business for the company.
The successful incumbent will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key clients, with a primary focus on Alberta’s Oil & Gas industry. This role requires proven experience in outside sales, particularly with Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) and Suncor. He or she will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth, increasing market share, and expanding the company’s presence within the region.
We will consider candidates located anywhere in Alberta with a valid driver’s license and car.
Responsibilities:
• Sales Growth: Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the Oil & Gas sector, specifically with CNRL, Suncor, and other key players in the Alberta market.
• Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and addressing any concerns or issues that arise.
• Industry Expertise: Leverage your knowledge of the Oil & Gas, Chemicals, and Pulp & Paper industries to tailor solutions to client needs and deliver value-added services.
• Account Management: Manage existing accounts, ensuring ongoing support and service, while identifying opportunities for cross-selling and upselling.
• Business Development: Identify and develop relationships with potential new clients, staying informed of industry trends and market dynamics to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
• Presentations & Proposals: Prepare and deliver professional presentations and proposals tailored to client needs, clearly articulating the value of our products and services.
• Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, including customer interactions, sales forecasting, and performance metrics.
• Collaboration: Work closely with internal sales teams, customer service, and operations, to ensure seamless delivery and support for client projects.
• Territory Management: Efficiently manage and expand the assigned territory, with regular travel to client sites and industry events.
Qualifications:
• Proven Outside Sales Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in outside sales, with a strong track record of success in the Oil & Gas sector, specifically with CNRL and Suncor.
• Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Oil & Gas industry in Alberta, including Chemicals and Pulp & Paper sectors.
• Communication & Negotiation Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and close deals.
• Results-Oriented: Strong motivation to achieve and exceed sales targets, with a demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth.
• Self-Starter: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, with a proactive approach to solving problems.
• Travel: Willingness to travel extensively within Alberta to meet with clients and attend industry events.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Strong presenter and communicator: Able to meet new people, build relationships and promote the company’s products and services.
• Technical knowledge of industrial equipment: Heat exchangers and pressure vessels, or other related capital equipment such as pumps and compressors.
Compensation:
• Salary: $100-120K, depending on experience
• Bonus: $10-70K, tied to mutually agreed upon targets
