DevOps Engineer with Python
This is a W-2-only position (no staffing agencies or contractors). All work must be performed in the U.S.
Open to 100% remote candidates.
Core hours are 9 am - 5 pm EST, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
• Design, code, and support Python and Ansible-based DevOps automation capabilities.
• Conduct software engineering through a hands-on approach, including code reviews, and deliver innovative software tools, technologies, and application frameworks.
• Maintain deep involvement in the implementation process.
• Ensure adherence to existing DevOps enterprise directions and architectural strategies.
• Function as a hands-on member of the DevOps team, guiding and mentoring the team to design, document, develop, test, deploy, and maintain products and solutions.
Required Skills
• Proficient in version control and release strategies using Git/GitHub.
• Competent in Python and Bash.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools (such as Ansible, Terraform, Helm).
• Understands programming paradigms and can effectively communicate theoretical design choices.
• Experience using CI/CD tools to build and deploy software solutions.
• Comfortable working in Git, using appropriate branching strategies and best practices.
• Focused on business outcomes with a results-oriented mindset.
• Drives frequent, incremental code testing and deployment for developed solutions.
• Advanced problem-solving skills with a proven track record of solving complex problems.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions.
• Adaptable to a dynamic work environment and capable of making independent decisions.
• Detail-oriented, but able to maintain a big-picture perspective, applying details at the appropriate stage of an iterative project.
• Strong customer service focus.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Committed to delivering high-quality software solutions.
• 5+ years of programming/software development experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Python as a senior contributor.
Education
Bachelor’s degree REQUIRED.
