General Characteristics:
We are seeking an experienced SQL Developer to assist with the design and implementation of databases. The candidate will work closely with data architects and database developers to implement data modeling and SQL solutions to streamline and support enterprise information management. The SQL Developer will work collaboratively with all participants in software development projects and is supportive of developers and testers as they set up their data schemas and data models. This position also works closely with the module leads, business analysts, and project leadership as the team develops new applications and modules.
Experience:
• 5 years' experience as a SQL Developer and Data Modeler on complex technology solutions.
SQL Developer Responsibilities:
• Analyzing and translating business needs into long-term solution data models.
• Evaluating existing data systems.
• Working with the development team to create conceptual data models and data flows.
• Implementing data strategies and developing physical data models.
• Updating and optimizing local and metadata models.
• Evaluating implemented data systems for variances, discrepancies, and efficiency.
• Troubleshooting and optimizing data systems.
SQL Developer Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar field.
• 5 years of hands-on experience with SQLdevelopment and physical and relational data modeling.
• Expert knowledge of metadata management and related tools.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience with team management.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills
• Advanced SQL programming skills.
• SQL query optimization/ performance tuning.
• SQL query execution plan.
• SQL Server 2008R2/2012/2014/2019, including writing TSQL.
• Ability to write basic queries.
• Understand and can create CTE's, stored procedures, User defined functions.
• SSRS Report development and performance tuning is required.
• DBA skills database restore/ backup/ assigning roles/permission is a plus.
• Data modeling/Diagram, read data models, and understand dimensional table relationships is a must have.
Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar. Or equivalent work experience. Technical degree preferred.
