KLDiscovery, a leading global provider of electronic discovery, information governance and data recovery services, is currently seeking a manager for our internal DevOps teams.
This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of one or more teams supporting the operations and deployment processes of our production applications. Their teams will be developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to manage the lifecycle of both the infrastructure and the deployment and configuration of services on that infrastructure. Those teams will have direct operational support roles to ensure the uptime and stability of the platforms that they support. Their manager will be responsible for ensuring the success of those teams on both their long-term initiatives and the ongoing support requirements. Project management experience and skills required. Engage with direct reports on a regular basis to proactively provide coaching, mentoring, and training. Provide regular feedback to direct reports on their performance. They will also mentor, coach, and train incoming DevOps Engineers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quarterly performance evaluations
• Adhere to development processes and workflows and improve it if needed
• Oversee automation development projects and report on initiatives to ensure timely delivery
• Manages project risk by providing regular feedback to key stakeholders
• Serve as a single point of contact for project initiatives
• Responsible for project on-boarding for new associates
• Communicate project goals and expectations to associates
• Create design and user documentation as needed
• Contribute to project through coding, testing or project management
• Utilize, communicate and enforce standards
• Support bug fixes and implement enhancements to applications in Production
• Seek and participate in personal development opportunities to maintain a detailed knowledge of industry standards, engineering best practices, and business needs
• Acting as a bridge between IT and Engineering personnel
• Take solutions proposed by others and expand on them to provide the desired outcome. Offer solutions to others
• Evaluate changes and commit to action. Identify potential risks at the team level and likelihood and scale of each risk
• Suggest actions in advance and communicate development needs. Volunteer for additional activities within their own team
• Remove roadblocks impeding team progress
• Interact with other departments
• Operate within budget, authorization limits and aligned with the current financial condition
• Provides input for budgeting for next fiscal periods
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and compensation management. Provide input for and execute hiring strategy in compliance with law and internal regulations
• Occasional travel
Qualifications
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related scientific field preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of leadership, training, and mentoring experience
• 5+ years of software development experience or DevOps experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience working Linux environments
• Experience working in an automation-driven infrastructure, including concepts like Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with the following tools and technologies is essential:
• Azure Cloud
• Terraform
• Ansible
• Possess significant humility, hunger, and people smarts
• Ability to work in a team or with multiple organizational departments in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment
• Awareness of and demonstrate company values, policies, and guidelines.
