Description
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Porter/Janitor. In this essential role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and ensuring a safe and presentable environment for our facility. Your primary focus will be on performing janitorial duties, cleaning and sanitizing various areas, and providing support to other team members as needed.
Requirements
• Perform general cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors and surfaces throughout the facility.
• Clean and sanitize restroom facilities, ensuring they are well-stocked with necessary supplies.
• Empty and dispose of trash and recycling bins in designated areas.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces, ensuring they are free from smudges and streaks.
• Maintain cleanliness in common areas, such as hallways, lobbies, and break rooms.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and report any shortages or maintenance needs to the appropriate supervisor.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down event spaces, including arranging furniture, removing debris, and performing post-event cleaning.
• Support the maintenance team by reporting any maintenance or repair issues observed during cleaning duties.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, using appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
• Provide assistance to guests or employees who require directions or other basic information.
• Follow established procedures for handling and storing cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with guests and staff members.
Requirements:
• Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized environment.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, including the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently, managing time and prioritizing tasks effectively.
• Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects, and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the facility's schedule and event requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations related to cleaning and janitorial duties.

Working Environment
This position generally requires that work be performed from Wollman Rink offices. This position requires frequent outdoor work and exposure to varying weather conditions due to the nature of the business. Availability to work evening, weekends, and holidays.
