We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at an elementary school near Seymour, Connecticut. This is a full-time position in a resource classroom setting, providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide individualized instruction and support to students in the resource room
• Develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet student needs
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
• Monitor and report student progress toward academic and social-emotional goals
• Utilize various teaching methods and strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles
Requirements:
• Active Connecticut Special Education Teaching License
• Experience working with elementary students in a special education setting
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Passion for supporting the growth and development of students with special needs
