Summary
The Early Head Start Onboarding & Career Readiness Coach is primarily responsible for onboarding and supporting newly hired education staff through their first year of employment, planning, coordinating and delivering high quality professional development to program staff, and recommending career pathways to promote staff retention. This position will provide support to all EHS staff across 10 counties, including: Chester, Philadelphia, Montgomery, Lancaster, Northampton, Lehigh, Bucks, Delaware, Berks, Lebanon, Dauphin, York, Adams, Cumberland, Perry, and Franklin Counties.
Essential Job Responsibilities
• Onboard and support newly hired education staff through their first year of employment
• Develop, implement, and track new hire induction materials, including written and visual resources for staff.
• Actively mentor new staff, including providing modeling, observation, and feedback of practices to ensure new staff are equipped to be successful in the classroom.
• Provide regular debrief and problem-solving sessions for new classroom staff to form relationships and receive peer feedback.
• Plan, coordinate, and deliver high quality professional development to program staff.
• Obtain and maintain current best-practice certifications and credentials, such as CLASS, T-POT, and ECERS.
• Ensure each staff member has an individualized professional development plan and track each staff person’s PD hours to ensure program requirements are met.
• With the program supervisors and practice-based coaches, identify staff development needs based on staff professional development plans, student outcomes, classroom observations, and monitoring results.
• Research, recommend, and coordinate high-quality professional development providers when outside contractors are required.
• Design and deliver high-quality professional development sessions to staff.
• Recommend career pathways to promote staff retention.
• Serve as a coach and advisor to all staff in continuing their career pathway.
• Track required CDA completion, mentoring and supporting staff in completing all steps as needed.
Qualifications:
Education And Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Education or Social Services required, ECE strongly preferred
• 5+ years experience working in Head Start or similar agency required
Professional or Other Required Clearances
• Valid Driver's License & reliable transportation required
• Current police, child abuse, and FBI fingerprint clearances within 1 year required
Anticipated Salary Range:
Project, Head Start, $60,694.40/yr. - $77,563.20/yr.
• Placement on band is based on years of direct experience in a comparable role. 260 day position, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week
