ABOUT THE ROLE –
The Brand Manager strategizes, develops, and executes tactical marketing plans to realize established KPIs for assigned brands. They are responsible for pricing, innovation, new product development, communications, promotional activities, and print/digital marketing campaigns. The Brand Manager balances analytical and creative thinking to push the industry’s boundaries, utilizing a data-driven approach. They will focus on the needs of consumers while leveraging market insights to create business opportunities. With a strong understanding of P&L and budget management, the brand manager will ensure that profitability targets are achieved. In addition to core brand responsibilities, the Brand Manager will take on cross-functional projects and initiatives that benefit the broader organization.
WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
• Leads all activities relating to Premium Cigar brand management including pricing, promotion, product, packaging, advertising, digital, and product innovation.
• Sets the short-term and long-term strategies for the brand(s) and develops/executes the annual tactical marketing plan to attain volume and profit commitments.
• Effectively leads cross-functional team meetings to deliver the tactical activities of the marketing plans to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Mines for consumer and competitive insights, translating those insights into leverageable growth opportunities.
• Continually drives to strengthen product portfolio through line extensions, innovation platforms and consumer product development.
• Leads advertising and/or promotional agencies to ensure messaging and activities deliver against brand strategies and maintain brand integrity/voice.
• Drives to improve profitability through pricing, margin/mix, sku rationalization, and cost reduction activities.
• Analyzes P&L and identifies issues; recommends and implements necessary action plans to achieve brand objectives.
• Plans and manages the annual marketing spending budget to ensure the brand activities are delivered according to the tactical plan and that profitability targets are achieved.
• Maintains a strong understanding of consumer, customer, and competitive trends within the Cigar industry.
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WILL BE REQUIRED?
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance or other related discipline
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in consumer marketing & brand building
• Demonstrated ability to lead high performance teams
• Experience in developing and executing strategic plans
• Demonstrable entrepreneurial and results-driven passion
• Experience leading and working cross-functionally in matrix organizations
• Proven experience working collaboratively with Sales & Operations teams to drive business results
