Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher (SPED) to join our team in Garland, TX. In this school-based role, you will work with students with a range of disabilities and special needs, creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment to help them succeed academically and socially.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities, both in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure students’ needs are met and goals are integrated into the classroom.
• Monitor and assess students’ progress, adapting teaching methods and materials as needed.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of students’ progress, IEP goals, and other relevant documentation.
• Participate in IEP meetings, providing insights and recommendations for student development and support.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes students’ academic and social growth.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification in Special Education for Texas.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and educational staff.
• Experience in a school setting preferred but not required.
