What you'll do...
As an AI Operations Manager in Global Tech, you will report directly to the Head of Operations and lead a team of AI Operation Specialists, providing direction and leadership for data annotation validation, and capturing operations. As a technical leader and manager, you will need solid data analysis or data annotation skills . Specialization in leading teams focused on annotation is strongly preferred . Working in a fast-paced environment, you will leverage your natural curiosity and inventive problem-solving talents to anticipate the needs of your team and the project. You will inspire and guide them to create data that can be used by the data science team to solve incredibly complex decades-old problems for the largest retailer in the world.
About Team:
Constellation is a team within Walmart Global Tech that specializes in building, deploying, monitoring, and leveraging connected hardware for the purpose of distributing critical data insights to drive operational excellence and power business initiatives across Walmart Stores, DCs (Distribution Center), and FCs (Fulfillment Centers).
What you'll do:
• Practice servant-style leadership in supporting the AI Operations Specialists that report to you while respecting the values of the company and the needs of the project.
• Recruit, lead, and manage a team for capture, annotation, and validation.
• Establish best practices for capturing and annotating images to create high-quality data.
• Practice first principles engineering and push the boundaries of what has been done before.
• Be hands on when appropriate to help or guide the team.
• Innovate
What you'll bring:
• 2+ years' experience leading and managing people
• Experience managing hourly workers preferred
• Experience managing distributed teams is strongly preferred
• 6+ years' experience with data analysis, data annotation, or similar roles preferred
• Any combination of education and work experience is acceptable.
• Experience working in small teams/incubators.
• Some travel may be required .
