Position Summary :
As the Data Engineering Manager (DEM) you will be responsible to define Cloud Protection and Licensing (CPL) business Global data analytics strategy by working with but not limited to business executives in Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Finance, and Business Operations.
The Data Engineering Manager will use the Data analytics strategy defined to guide and position necessary budget commitments by the Client ISS organization on what infrastructure evolution will need to support specific data strategic goals define in the CPL Global Data Strategy.
In addition to working closely with the ISS teams to influence their budget, the DEM will need to keep close interactions with teams involved in design and development of New Product / Solution / Service across all CPL product lines to influence building into the design of the product / solution / service the availability of the critical data fields which will be needed to design and develop the key business and performance metrics to support analytics views necessary for each product line to maximize opportunities around product / service sales, product / service design evolution, product / service performance and maintenance.
The job scope include working on data integration, migration, and / or transformation on premise MSQL and PSQL databases, Oracle EBS databases, Client, and AWS.
As well as working on projects from, but not limited to, on premise MSQL and PSQL databases, Oracle EBS databases, Client, and AWS.
To support the job mission you will design and develop large-scale data processing systems, data pipelines and infrastructures optimized for scalability, reliability, and machine learning all while troubleshoot potential platform issues.
You will need to hire and maintain a high performing team of Data Stewarts, Data scientists and Business Analysts who work closely with data scientists, data analyst / Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Base Administrators, and key technical and business leaders within each product line of CPL globally in order to meet business data analytics needs and bring technical data architectural solutions required by the local, regional or global teams to life.
This would require working proactively with product developers and system / process engineers to ensure that we are collecting / recording and decisions are taken on making direct connections to various systems or work with IT teams to design and building a data lake that will serve the CPL business need for analytics.
As a leader Data Engineering, the candidate must communicates effectively with data and works collaboratively with other departments to deliver positive and repeatable results for our customers.
Responsible for resource allocation, career development, budgeting for delivering results that support the company’s strategic Data Analytics goals.
Essential Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility :
• Provide deep technical expertise on data platform infrastructure, data standardization, quality, accessibility, and Big Data technologies globally for all CPL business functions
• Design and deliver high-quality solutions including sample code and solve complex technical challenges
• Be responsible for design, standardization, integration and build of data elements within the strategic data plan working both independently and with our development and operations service providers
• Define the CPL global Data Quality Policy and implement quality control process to ensure that data is of the highest quality
• Be a trusted technical advisor to key stakeholders with the ability to translate business requirements into data requirements and structures, and solve complex Big Data challenges
• Create and deliver best practices recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, sample code, and technical presentations to different levels of key business and technical stakeholders
• Be a data evangelist
• Experience managing and working with a geographically distributed organization including offshore
• Day to day personnel / operating activities of the managers (i.e., hires, trains, appraises, rewards, motivates, disciplines, recommends termination as necessary)
Minimum Requirements :
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and or Engineering with 10+ Years experience working with Data Analytics Programs and or Digital Transformation Programs
• Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment
• Experience in architecting and writing database or analytics code (e.g., data pipelines) and scripts in one or more programming languages (e.
• Experience in designing and maintaining internet facing data backends in distributed, virtualized, or containerized environments
• Demonstrate hands on experience in developing and operating data applications running on relational, hive and multidimensional database engines
• High Technical SQL proficiency, within a Oracle, MsSQL, and PSQL environm
