The Department of Pathology and Clinical Laboratories at Jamaica Hospital is a state-of-the-art, full-service laboratory that performs approximately 1.5 million tests annually to help detect, diagnose and prevent disease. The department includes the clinical divisions of Anatomic Pathology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology and Phlebotomy. We are currently seeking experienced Clinical Chemistry Technologists for immediate Full-Time & Part-Time evening and night shift opportunities.
Our ideal candidate will have strong expertise across all areas of the Chemistry laboratory, and be adept in obtaining good reliable results during the operation of any chemistry analyzer. Must be able to rotate through different areas and workstations, following all quality control procedures.
DUTIES
• Perform a variety of automated and manual tests and related duties to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease, following established procedures.
• Assisting in the training, orientation, and development of Student Technologist Trainees.
• Participating in proficiency testing.
