Job Summary
The Senior CNC Programmer is responsible for developing and executing manufacturing strategies for part fabrication, focusing on complex CNC programming and 5-axis milling. This role oversees production schedules, mentors junior programmers, and directs daily programming activities. The Senior CNC Programmer designs fixtures, selects tools, and creates efficient CNC programs while implementing training programs to enhance team skills. Additionally, the role involves proposing design improvements for cost and capacity optimization, standardizing and improving CNC operations, and ensuring parts are designed for manufacturability through collaboration with design and QA teams.

Essential Job Functions
• Develop manufacturing strategy for the fabrication of each part and then utilize the existing programmers to execute the strategy.
• Responsible for setting a schedule (programming, fixtures/tools fabrication or procurement) for all parts and providing status to Manufacturing Manager.
• Accountable for programmer execution to plans.
• Mentor and coach junior programmers.
• Direct the daily activity of the programmers.
• Develop CNC Programs for complex parts requiring 5 axis mills.
• Design complex fixtures.
• Identify CNC tools required to execute CNC programs in an efficient manner.
• Develop a training program for the programmers and technicians in order to develop their skills and abilities and establish backups.
• Propose product design improvements for cost reduction/yield or capacity improvement strategies.
• Implement control systems and standardize/improve CNC operations across SEDA.
• Perform manufacturability analysis for every part of the scope (review with Design/Product/QA). Define “Design for Manufacturability (DFM)” checklist.
• Other duties as assigned.
