We are looking for a Junior BI Analyst with a background in statistics, marketing, data science, finance, or another closely related field to join our team based in Tysons, VA.
The role is focused on simplifying Retention Marketing metrics; making information useful for the Retention Marketing team; keeping the business abreast of trends; identifying opportunities; analyzing strategies, changes, or tests, driven by data that will improve Marketing performance and the full user experience. Ultimately increasing customer retention across multiple states and brands where we operate. This position will ensure Marketing targets are tracked and analyzed daily/weekly/monthly using the plethora of data available and measuring the success of Retention Marketing campaigns and initiatives.
The ideal candidate should have a passion for marketing analytics and producing high quality, accurate, and actionable analysis to drive business performance. As well as create a culture of continuous improvement by bringing a sense of urgency to situations, demonstrating an active approach, and being willing to get involved to increase the pace and achieve goals and objectives.
This role requires a motivated, energetic, inquisitive, and highly numerate person, possessing a genuine love of numbers and the value that can be derived from interrogating them.
Duties include, but not limited to:
Analytics
• Report on and analyze retention rate trends across sports and casino across various cohorts (Month 1 and onwards).
• Review and provide insight into the impact of various campaigns being executed by the Retention Specialist Team. Promotions and campaigns would include but not be limited to deposit match offers (casino and sports), various sports promotions, bonus credits, direct mailers, enhanced odds offerings, customer onboarding, lapsed customer offerings.
• Work with the Communications Team on overall communications reporting and insight into metrics such as open rates, click rates, unsubscribes, IP credibility and delivery.
• Closely align with the Marketing Insight Analyst in the acquisition space.
• Liaise with the Content Marketing to assess website tracking data to provide insight and suggestions around customer behaviors and possible journey improvements.
• Close cooperation and coordination between all branches of Retention Marketing to ensure timelines and deliverables on all projects are meet to expectations.
• Stay abreast of all changes and optimizations in the retention strategy to ensure details of all changes are measured and provide insights to business.
• Report on and analyze new initiatives within the Retention Marketing team.
• Assume complete ownership of the Retention Reports on the relevant data tools by creating and maintaining appropriate ease of access to data for the Retention Marketing team.
• Generate new reports to provide insights and direction on and ad-hoc basis.
• Monitor, investigate, and escalate issues with the various reports.
• Proactively identify trends, investigate any irregularities, and follow up with any fixes and/or amendments to improve efficiencies.
• Ensure reports are up-to-date and that reporting errors are fixed in a timely manner.
• Gather requirements for reporting and building spreadsheets and tools to answer reporting needs within the team (Excel, Power BI, MSSQL, Tableau, etc.)
• Familiarize yourself with other data sources to be able to link them up, when necessary.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Stay abreast of and advocate for industry best practices with regard to data analysis, data stewardship and data visualization.
Teamwork
• Build excellent rapport with all levels within the organization.
• Ensure all information is saved in a central location.
• Build and maintain relationships with various support departments (Marketing, Customer Support, HVC Team, BIS, Dev, – to name a few).

Essential Criteria:
• 3 years’ relevant work experience or bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Finance, Marketing, or closely related field.
• 3-5 years’ MSSQL experience with specific reference to creation of stored procedures, functions, automation of jobs, performance tuning and optimization, RDBMS, error handling and logging, etc.
• 3-5 years’ experience with front end visualization tools such as Excel / SSRS / Power BI / Tableau (creation, implementation, and maintenance of analytical dashboard).
• Team members must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel proficiency; proven working knowledge and experience with Excel spreadsheets, graphs, and formulas).
