Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support two Estate Planning Attorneys. In this role, you will be crucial in managing client communications, calendaring, and scheduling. You will collaborate with a team of four paralegals dedicated to supporting the attorneys in transactional (non-litigation) matters. This hybrid position offers a mix of in-office and remote work, with mandatory in-office attendance on Wednesdays to foster team cohesion.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and coordinate attorney calendars, scheduling client meetings, appointments, and court dates.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for client communications, maintaining professional and friendly phone etiquette.
• Assist in drafting, proofreading, and formatting legal documents and correspondence for estate planning matters.
• Support the attorneys in preparing for meetings and maintaining organized client files.
• Collaborate with four paralegals to ensure smooth workflow and efficient case management.
• Handle administrative tasks such as billing, time entry, and client database maintenance.
• Participate in team-building events and contribute to our collegial office environment.
Qualifications:
• 3 to 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in a law firm setting.
• Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures, particularly in estate planning.
• Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to multitask and work independently as a self-starter.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with professional phone etiquette.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications.
• Flexible and adaptable to a hybrid work schedule.
