The Applied and Computational Mathematics Division (ACMD) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Boulder, CO is seeking well-qualified applicants for two-year appointments in the US National Research Council (NRC) Research Associateship Program. Topics of interest within NIST’s Applied and Computational Mathematics Division include quantum information science, including both theoretical work on the capabilities and limitations of quantum computation and work with NIST world-leading experimentalists on quantum measurement advantages and analyzing quantum states; computational electromagnetics, especially on fast algorithms and high-order convergent discretizations for integral equations; and uncertainty quantification in computational material science, including modeling to extend the generality of data from experiments. Application deadline dates are February 1 and August 1 each year. Applicants must be US citizens. For details on current project areas see https://www.nist.gov/itl/math/postdoctoral-opportunities. Candidates are highly encouraged to contact potential NIST postdoc advisers to discuss opportunities before applying. If you have questions, please contact Ronald.Boisvert@nist.gov.
