Deadline: 09/26/2024 Role Title Data Officer Grade Level Level D, Grade 9 Reporting To Director of Process Improvement, Global Operations Program/Tool/ Department/Unit Name Global Operations Team Name Global Operations Role Purpose The Data Officer is an individual contributor role that supports the team in making data-driven decisions by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data. They are responsible for identifying trends and patterns and presenting insights and recommendations to aid the Global Operations team in achieving its goals. The role requires specialized knowledge of database management, data visualization (e.g. developing dashboards) and data analysis tools to help the team make informed decisions that can best be applied in the context of Global Operations. Key Responsibilities As Data Officer you will: Provide data management expertise to support the goals of the Global Operations Team, as assigned by the members of the Global Operations Leadership. Conduct research and analyze large amounts of data to identify possible impacts, trends and metrics previously not considered within specific projects. Collect data and gather information for assigned projects and support the development, implementation, and monitoring data and metrics within operational systems and processes across the team. Collaborate with the Global Operations team members to coordinate operational activities like events management, travel, and queries. Engage in and support the OSF-wide data governance and management efforts across multiple functions. Leverage data management and visualization tools already available within current systems; Identify opportunities to better integrate data and metric within OSF systems for Global Operations performance indicator assessment; and Collaborate with the Information and Systems Manager in the exploration of systems that can be eliminated, added or replaced to better serve the globally shared operations platform Lead the data aspect of special projects in Global Operations as needed. Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports as needed, generating a variety of materials in advance of routine and special engagements. Assist with events management, workshops, and other logistical aspects, with limited supervision. Conduct research within a defined area, making recommendations to the project teams and Global Operations leadership. Perform other tasks and responsibilities as required, demonstrating resourcefulness and self-motivation with the ability to work independently and creatively solve problems. People Responsibilities (Total Team / DRs) None Key internal relationships Associate Director, Global Operations; Information & Systems Manager, Global Operations; Admin Officer, Global Operations; Director of Global Operations; Global Operations Leadership Team Key external relationships Global Operations vendors, especially on systems; Information Technology Qualifications Essential: Educated to a degree-level (or equivalent) Experience Essential: Demonstrated experience in data analysis and management experience, working with large data sets for high-level trend analyses and metrics development. Desirable: Prior successful career experience working within global organizations and management of complex internal and external stakeholder groups. Experience with Salesforce, PowerBI, Tableau and CRMs preferred. Competencies Functional Competencies: (including expected levelvii for the role) Computer skills - understanding and effectively using standard office equipment and standard software packages to support business processes. Software skills such as MS Office – Excel, PowerPoint & Word, Asana. See above on the Excel modeling skillset. MS Excel modeling experience is a must. Writing skills - The ability and skill to express ideas, request actions, and/or formulate plans or policies using writing skills. Planning and Organizing- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and oversee activities to efficiently meet objectives. Presentation skills – exercises specialized knowledge and provides technical guidance when required on communicating with other people by speaking in a clear, concise, and compelling manner. Reporting- Exercises specialized knowledge and provides technical guidance when required on creating reports for various audiences as relevant, in a clear and effective manner, keeping in mind the purpose of the reports. Compliance -The ability and skill to achieve full compliance with applicable rules and regulations in management and/or operations. Vendor Management – Exercises specialized knowledge and provides technical guidance when required on managing vendors so that they deliver the best possible results given available resources.
