The Instructional Support Specialist for Special Education and Literacy will provide targeted instructional support and coaching to local school districts in the area of best practices in special education, inclusion, and literacy.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
• Organize and implement high-quality professional development offerings in special education, literacy and behavior best practices as requested by component districts and others.
• Coach teachers and support staff in classrooms and other school-based settings in order to ensure implementation of high-quality instruction.
• Communicate effectively with various stakeholders and support improved results for all students.
• Assist with the preparation and planning of short- and long-term professional development plans, using skills such as data analysis, research, and resource management.
• Continuously refine practices through the study of best practices in professional development, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, literacy, , special education, and education as a whole.
• Collaborate with other specialists and stakeholders to determine and implement targeted support.
• Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Professional Development.
