This position will contribute to our company's drug discovery and development efforts in the Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) Group within the Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, Metabolism and Bioanalytics (PDMB) organization at our company's Research Laboratories in West Point, PA. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for implementing robotics and efficient data flows for bioanalysis in a high throughput environment. Candidates will have the opportunity to work closely with other scientists across the network to create solutions, via novel tools and emerging technology, to facilitate the seamless transfer of protocols and data across platforms to advance our scientific strategy. Successful candidates should have a passion for generating high quality data for use by project teams across a range of therapeutic areas, exhibit strong laboratory skills, including the ability to independently execute the bioanalysis of in vitro and in vivo samples, as well as possess the capacity to contribute to implementing automation to streamline workflows. Candidates must have demonstrated leadership and accountability for setting standards for excellence to deliver high quality results within established timelines, ability to work in a team environment, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and possess an innovative mindset to participate in identification of problems and opportunities to deliver solutions.
Position Qualifications:
Education Minimum Requirement:
• Bachelor’s degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, or related science with 1+ years of relevant laboratory experience or a master’s degree with 0+ years experience.
Required Experience and Skills:
• Strong background in analytical chemistry and/or biochemistry
• Hands on experience with quantitative analysis using LC-MS or other analytical techniques.
• Ability to leverage informatics platforms for data collation and interpretation.
• Experience maintaining laboratory notebooks and conducting data-fitting using commercially available software packages such as Excel, Graphpad Prism, TIBCO Spotfire, etc.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and collaborative attributes to deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment
• Autonomy, attention to detail, critical thinking, growth mindset
Preferred Experience and Skills:
• Ability to perform experiments per established protocols and design novel experiments to solve challenging analytical problems
• Familiarity with troubleshooting LC-MS instrumentation
• Familiarity with in vitro systems/techniques used in ADME science.
• Experience programming with Python, MatLab, R, etc, to develop user friendly tools to streamline processes.
• Experience with robotics, assay automation, and operation of liquid handlers in support of high throughput workflows.
• Experience with manual and automated sample preparation techniques including protein precipitation and solid phase extraction.
• Basic understanding of statistical analysis.
• Experience working at a research-driven pharmaceutical company or contract research organization.
