What you'll be doing

The Senior Director, Access Strategy at Nuvation will be responsible for developing and executing access strategies to support our field teams and ensure our portfolio of current and future oncology therapies are accessible to patients, healthcare providers, and payers. This person will be a key member of the Access and Commercial team and will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders across the Nuvation Bio organization. This role reports to the Executive Dir, Global Value and Access Strategy and will be based remote in the U.S., although may be required, as needed, to perform duties at Nuvation's corporate offices.
You will be responsible for...
• Oversee portfolio of Nuvation Bio's products and the development of access pre-approval information exchange, through launch, and into lifecycle management and ensure patient access and affordability to meet/exceed business objectives
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with key business stakeholders including HEOR, Medical, Brand, and Sales. Develop annual access marketing plans, define core strategies and resultant tactics and messages to incorporate clinical and economic value propositions. Evolve strategies to differentiate and gain acceptance/coverage of Nuvation Bio's products across 7 channels of key access stakeholders (Payer/IDN/Pharmacy/GPO/Patient Support/Distribution/HCP)
• Oversee access market research and analytics to identify key drivers of access and affordability barriers and disseminate key information and insights to internal and appropriate external partners
• Proactively monitor and engage on government and/or payer policy that is or has the potential to affect access to the Nuvation Bio portfolio
• Partner with Sales leadership and Sales Training to develop market access trainings and tools to support teams in their hybrid sales/access role so they can confidently communicate the brands value proposition and deploy the various access support resources offered by Nuvation
• Lead the pre-launch development of patient support services website and resources and evolve post-launch resource needs
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and guidance related to access marketing, and educate cross-functional partners as needed
• Provide cross functional leadership to internal and external stakeholders
• Manage agency partners/ vendors and ensure projects are executed within budget
• Lead the development and implementation of all patient services content from Website, portals and field resources
What Knowledge & Experience you'll bring to us...
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Biological Sciences, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred or equivalent exp
• Minimum 5-7+ years of progressive pharmaceutical experience in Market Access and launch of oncology or specialty care products
• Experience in payer, reimbursement, pricing, contracting, strategy, diagnostic coverage and reimbursement and execution
• Deep understanding of payers (commercial/government payers), distribution and trade, physician networks, healthcare systems, and public policies associated with oncology and ability to translate this knowledge into resultant strategic opportunities
• Launch experience required
• Previous experience successfully developing and leading managed markets/payer initiatives that supported product launches; well versed in pharma/payer contracting terms across various segments; experience with oral drugs, including Medicare Part D
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation skills to C-suite management and external stakeholders
• Ability to lead, collaborate and influence cross-functional teams within an organization
• Experience in oncology solid tumors and oral oncolytic is preferred
• Flexible, adaptable, diplomatic, and able to effectively deal with ambiguity
• Possesses a good blend of strategic and operational experience with the ability to see the big picture and strong attention to detail
• Ability to travel 15-25%
