The Mississippi State University Department of History invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in United States History, late 19 th and/or 20 th Century,, beginning August 16, 2025. Teaching responsibilities are two courses per semester. Offerings include undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of expertise, a regular turn in the American History survey course, and graduate seminars. Demonstrated ability to contribute to the department's longstanding Ph.D. program and intellectual life is especially favored as is a vigorous commitment to research.
A Ph.D. in late 19th and/or 20th Century American History with demonstrated emphasis and commitment to African American History by time of appointment.
