Why you want this job
As a Data Engineer, you will lead the development and optimization of data pipelines and infrastructure, ensuring data systems are scalable, efficient, and secure to support our growing business. You will work independently and with cross-functional teams to transform data into actionable insights that drive key decisions. This role will focus on building and maintaining the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from various sources.
Your contributions will help us scale, optimize, and enhance data systems, while collaborating with engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders. You'll take on more advanced challenges and provide guidance to junior team members, offering expertise on complex data infrastructure and analytics tools.
What you'll do
• Lead collaboration with product and engineering teams to develop scalable data solutions addressing operational and business needs.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery to ensure efficient operations at scale.
• Design, build, and maintain data infrastructure for ETL (extraction, transformation, loading) processes, leveraging Databricks, SQL Server, and AWS technologies.
• Develop and optimize analytics tools to provide insights into key business metrics such as customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other performance indicators.
• Address data-related technical issues across the organization, supporting various business units in reporting, data visualization, and analytics requirements.
• Create and enhance data tools that support analytics teams in optimizing our product and driving business insights.
• Collaborate with data and analytics experts to improve the functionality, scalability, and performance of our data systems.
• Drive communication and alignment, providing regular status updates, and working towards consensus with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior data engineers, offering guidance on best practices, advanced tools, and techniques
What you'll need
• 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role or a related field, with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and data warehousing, with experience in data modeling and relational database management.
• Proficiency in cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), including experience designing and managing data infrastructure on cloud platforms.
• Expertise in data pipeline technologies, Pub/Sub models, and workflow management tools.
• Programming proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for building and optimizing data pipelines.
• Experience with stream-processing systems like Apache Spark and Kafka, as well as familiarity with data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, or Looker, with an ability to develop dashboards and optimize reports for actionable business insights
